Sponsorship Opportunities with the Guinness Cycling Team:
Cycling has undergone incredible growth in North America, thanks in part to the inspiring story and amazing victories of seven-time Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong. Combined with the success of the four US based pro-tour teams, and large influx of North American riders into the European peloton, 'cycling' has infiltrated the mainstream US media, resulting in a huge increase in broadcast and print coverage. The Guinness Cycling Team offers an incredible return on investment by taking advantage of this publicity and interest the sport is generating.
The Guinness Cycling Team was started in 1999 via an agreement with the local Guinness representative in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. We quickly emerged as one of the premier teams in the Northeast. In 2003, the team moved to Portland, Oregon and restructured as a 501c3 non-profit organization with an agreement from Diageo-Guinness USA. With an aggressive racing style, dynamic riders that have National and World Championship racing experience, and an organized approach, we made a significant impact from the start and have proven ourselves time and again.
This year our top performances included winning our third straight Omnium title at the local, internationally attended Alpenrose Velodrome Challenge; a 2nd, 4th and 5th National Championship placings, and 5 state championship titles. We earned 60 wins, including the monthly title for June and July at Portland's weekly training race series, 41 seconds and 42 thirds. Over the years, the team has been invited to and has raced the Tour of Ireland; won six Masters World Championships, one Masters World Championship Silver medal, one Masters National Championship, the prestigious Oregon Cup (in 2005 and 2008), state championship titles (including the Oregon state road race 4 times) and numerous National and State silver and bronze medals. Additionally, we have set the hour record at the Alpenrose Velodrome.
Reflective of Guinness' image of 250 years of building equity on integrity, our team is made up of riders with years of experience who are mentoring up-and-coming young racers as they develop as cyclists, competitors, and individuals. With this approach, you can be assured that each and every team member will responsibly represent the products we are supplied, and do so in a manner consistent with your brand attributes and core values. We look forward to working with you.
Sincerely,
David Klipper
